Lucia Liljegren: In Progress (Tuesday March 1, 2005).
Toggles selected to create button front raglan cardigan.
To create a hooded zip front version, you can adjust the toggles, here, or visit the hooded raglan page.
I've
working on variations of the sideways machine knit raglan sweater. It's
knit sideways, and the main piece, consisting of front, back and both
sleeves is knit in one pieces. No sewing. This is pretty
cool, and I think all machine knitters should give this a try. (I've
coded the measurements for a 14" doll ; if you don't want one for
yourself, knit one for your doll. )
Plus, since it's knit
sideways, heavy people will find they don't run out of needles when
casting on. (They may need to piece the ribbing on the back, but you
can seam that inconspicuously.)
Because knitting raglans sideways is so slick, I'm working on some
variatiosn. I'll be posting several pages, with different
toggles selected, so you can see the variations. However, since
all variations require additional toggles, schematics etc. all
pages are considered "under constructions" until I've worked out all
the variations
You can still knit the sweaters, but you'll find these can be very disorganized!
Oh,
by the way, this thing looks hilarious when it comes off the machine.
You can see how the main piece item comes off the machine by
reading this article at the blog.
