Sideways Knit Raglans.

March 5,  2005

I 'm working on variations of these knitting patterns. So, I created a "raglan" directory, and moved all of these pages. If you're looking for a pattern to knit a raglan sweater, visit  Jim's raglan (sideways machine knit)  or Lu's hoodie raglan (sideways machine knit.)  I've started charting a seamless hand knit raglan worked from the bottom up, but that's not ready yet.

Sideways Knit Raglans: Why you should knit these.

needs buttonsThe main piece, consisting of front, back and both sleeves is knit in one piecs. No sewing. Plus, since it's knit sideways, heavy people will find they don't run out of needles when casting on. (They may need to piece the ribbing on the back, but you can seam that inconspicuously.)  So far, the ones I've knit fit use wonderfully.

You can see how the main piece item comes off the machine by reading this article at the blog.
