How many Calories does an exercise burn?

This page lists then the number of calories burned by typical exercises. The number of calories burned depends on intensity.  When the level of intensity is not specified, you should assume the intensity is typical of relatively accomplished fit participants.

You can get a better estimate of the number of calories burned by using computerized equipment.  If you monitor your walking or running outdoors, you can buy a fancy pedometer.  Many cardio machines have a calorie read out. Heck, did you know you can even buy a jumprope that tallies the number of calories burned?  I bought mine from HealthTrack (When you get to their page, the jump rope is listed under "calorie counters".) If you want a non-computerized jumprope, BigFitness.com  has a huge selection. Use their search tool to search on "jump rope" when you get there!
