What is my foot size?

How to measure your foot length.

  1. Sit in a chair with the foot firmly placed on a piece of paper.  Holding a pencil perpendicular to your foot, trace and outline of your foot. Make sure the pencil is snug against the foot during the tracing.
  2. Draw horizontal and vertical lines as shown in the figure to the right.
  3. Measure the length of traced foot.

  4. Subtract 0.2 Inches ( 5 mm ) from each measurement to compensate for the thickness of the pen or pencil.

Determine your foot length based on your standard shoe size

If you can't measure someone's foot, ask them for their shoe size.  Find the shoe size in the Standard Shoe Sizes table below, and then look to the left for their foot length.  Warning: this is dangerous because shoe manufacturers sometimes deviate from the standards.  It came out pretty close for me though.

Note: In Europe, sizes are expressed as whole numbers. The values are interpolated to match up with the number of inches or cm to the left.
