Tools to Help You Convert Knitting Patterns
From The Knitting Fiend.
Your source for free custom generated knitting patterns, tips,
calculating tools and mindless knitting chatter on the web.
I'm
working on posting a whole bunch of tools that help you do the
calculations required to convert a
published knitting pattern, design your own from scratch, or just knit
a pattern that is a bit terse. Click the links to find the
calculator you need:
- Decrease stitches evenly
across a row. (Commonly done just prior to knitting a cuff when
knitting a sleeve top down.)
- Increase stitches
evenly across a row. (Commonly done just after knitting a cuff when
knitting a sleeve bottom up.)
- Increase stitches to
taper a standard sleeve knit from the bottom up (or for that matter a
halter top knit from the top down.)
- Decrease stitches
to taper a standard sleeve knit from the top down.
Have fun knitting!
