This pattern generator is a program that creates a pattern. If you want to customize for your size, your yarn
or anything else, click the go-away box on the pattern window that
popped up. Then, scroll down, and make changes. Then click any the
pop-up window button you find on this page. The new pattern will be customized to your needs.
If you've used my pattern generators, you know you can get
directions in nearly any gauge. Here is what I used for the sweater
illustrated on this page:
1
skeins of Blue Sky Cotton; 100 grams=150 yards, knits up between 4-5
st/inch. I guess that makes it worsted weight. Color 617 (I
call this hot pink or heliotrope.)
Denise
circular needles with size 7 tips for main body; size 5 tips for
i-cord. Size 5 double pointed needles for detached i-cord.
A crochet hook to fix occasional mistakes.
I normally avoid making yarn recommendations; this is
an exception. I recommend this yarn
for this project for three reasons. First, it didn't shrink when I
washed the swatch. This is important if you are going to fit as you
knit. Second, it is very soft; this is important when you
wear a garment directly against sensitive skin. Finally, cotton
is cool comfortable to wear in summer. At $9.35 a 100
gram skein, it is much more expensive than the Lion Brand Kitchen
Cotton I used for my raglan
but the Lion Brand Shrinks 10% which complicates fitting as you go. If
you do use a yarn that shrinks, think about that as you as you test fit the halter.
