Weight Loss Calculator

Do you want to lose weight? Are you confused about how many calories and how much fat, protein or carbohydrate you need in your healthy diet? Well, it turns out that in 2002, The National Academy of Sciences created flexible guidelines based on scientific evidence. Believe it or not, their guidelines are quite flexible. They recommend carbohydrate, fat and protein consumption in the following ranges:

  • Carbohydrate: 45% to 65% of total calories.
  • Fat: 20% to 35% of total calories.
  • Protein: 10% to 35% of total calories.

Because these ranges overlap, finding values for a diet you’d like to follow can be confusing. So, I programmed it for you! (The program also won’t recommend a calorie level that results in a weight loss of more than 8lbs a month or a calorie intake of less than 1200 a day. Those are unhealthy. )
