Biking at the Beach.
During the summer, Jim and I like to take a relaxing vacation camping up in Wisconsin or lounging on the beach in Florida. Our vacations aren’t very physical; we just enjoy sitting around, swimming, biking, fishing and mostly loafing. I have to admit, we sometimes take a often take a… uhmmm… motor home or rent a condo at the beach.
See how we like to “relax”? 
When we are “relaxing”, we don’t want to drive around much. Instead, to take trips down to the bait shop, or get emergency beer groceries, we usually take our cruiser bikes
No.. not 10 speed bikes… not mountain bikes. Just simple one speed bicycles like the ones we had as kids. The ones you can sit straight up on and look forward instead of hunching down– very similar to the ones available at xyz bikes. (Heck, we even have the bike baskets so we can bring back rum and diet coke to prepare cool refreshing drinks.)
Our bikes were terrific fun on our recent vacation to Siesta Key, we biked around the Key and stopped to lounge at the beach. If we’d had a big expensive bike, we’d feel we had to carry around one of those 5 lb locks. But because cruiser bikes are inexpensive, we didn’t mind riding them to the local bars and using flimsy little locks to protect them– the sort we used to use in school when we were kids!
Ahh… it made us feel like kids again!
