Why do I always have to fiddle so much when I decide to do something on the Passap?
Here is my mini-swatch. The back side of the swatch is striped. I’ve concluded that, even though the machine instructs me to use black strippers when knitting fair-isle circular, I need to use the orange ones. The edge needles drop stitches otherwise. As usually, I had to fiddle a bit to figure out the correct tension — the cast on row needs to be much tighter than the other ones. Plus, the portion that is not fair-isle is looser than the fair-isle portion. (So, I’ll need to adjust for that when knitting the lined mittens!)
I programmed the directions for the mitten. That is to say, I’ve programmed to describe how I think I should knit the mittens!
I’m going to knit single thickness first, and make the companion mitten double thickness. Meanwhile, I’ll make the required changes. No, I won’t have a matching pair that way. (Can you tell I don’t want acrylic mittens in these colors?) But, I will have recommendations on cast one etc. that way!
