After eruptions
red hot molten lava flows,
coating Stromboli.
Yes. You recognize the yarn.
These items are knit from “Explosion”, the same yarn used to knit “Mururoa”. Clearly, this yarn inspires poetry!
This time the designer named their hand knit creations after Stromboli, an Italian volcano that erupts frequently. Like “Mururoa”, the pattern for the top includes one for a matching hand knit purse.
Knit on!

I am going to have to start breaking out some of the photos from my stash (beginning in 1976) of needlework magaznes. Hey, we were flying high with Bi-Centennial crafting then!

Seventies? Whooo hooo! Mine are mostly 80s to now. Plus, of course, I find some at yarn companies sites now. There have always been seriously odd knit designs!

Why the world would anyone want to look like a bathroom rug???? This sweater looks like someone took a bath mat and but a neck hole in it and plopped it on. shiver

I’ve knit a hat and a scarf with this yarn. Sadly I still have a skein left of it in my stash
Maybe a felted purse?
