The Knitting Fiend/ Diet Diary

My in-laws came over for dinner Sunday night. We had roast chicken, squash and rice. And wine. (Of course.)

I showed off many of my hats. Some of you are familiar with my 4’10″ tall mother-in-law, Rosemary, who is the foot model for “Rosie’s Socks”. She tried the hats on, and Jim snapped a picture of her modeling Teddy’s “Raspberry Beret”. We sang the Prince song and cracked her up.

(If you’re wondering why the picture is in sepia, I promised Rosemary I’d remove color from the picture. She doesn’t want the world to see her in colors that clash! )

But, back to hats….

I’ve been fishing for gift ideas for Christmas. I mentioned I plan to chart a bucket hat next, showing her a picture from a catalog. She suggested I knit one in red — in a very petite size. I think the fishing worked.

Now, to figure out what to give Mom!
