We all know there must a a knit meeting going on in our neighborhood, but where? The coffee shop? The book store? Loads of these exist, but they are hard to find.
People at “The Knitting Fiend Forum” wanted a category on meetings so I set one up. There are several people trying to start meetings, and several announcing new meetings. I also thought it would be nice to create a scannable list. So, I wrote a “link frenzy”1 and posted at “The Knitting Fiend Annex”2 to let knitters publicize where their meeting. The “link frenzy” lets you enter the name of the club, the location of the meeting, the city and state. You can add your meeting here: “Add A Knit Club”.
After you enter information and submit, and I review the listing, the link will show on my Knit Club Meeting page.
Ok, you visited and said “Sheesh, there are only 4 knitting meetings in 4 states on the list.” Yep. These are the meetings entered by members of “The Knitting Fiend Forum“. However, I hope to increase the number as I discover new meetings (or as other people enter their meetings.)
Meanwhile, at the Annex, you can also Find a yarn store and add your favorite yarn store to another list.
Eventually, I’ll be adding things like places where you can take lessons or create other tools that might be useful.
1. I made up this word. It is sort of a free-for all links list, since you can add yourself. However, I do moderate to try to ensure the links are appropriate. I’m trying to organize so I eventually create a set of links that is useful for knitters.
2. The Knitting Fiend Annex runs on blog software, but it’s not really a blog. It’s just going to be lists of links to various things; I didn’t want to ping my readers 50 times in one day when I created the blog entries list of stores for each state!
