During our Chicago winters, The General finds few chipmunks to hunt. Bundle of energy that he is, he has turned to other prey. Here, a skein of fuschia yarn was resting peacefully on the desk, mistakenly believing Jim, working close by, would protect it. (Skeins of yarn aren’t very bright.)
The General began to pet the skein in what appeared to be a friendly manner. The skein made no attempt to flee and failed to cry out for help. Jim turned and laughed at The General’s antics.
Encouraged, The General began to toss the skein in the air, catch it in his mouth and shake it back and forth. He became more and more excited, rolling around until . . .
Boom!
Not to worry. As you can see, The General did not fumble when he hit the ground. He just continued to “kill” his prey. At this point, I rescued the skein which has sustained no damage; it was a bit disheveled.
The fiber? Mohair. I think we can put all questions about The General’s fiber preferences to rest.

Oh, those pictures are too good - especially the last one, where he seemingly is completely unphased by his tumble……..

The General is the cutest. And such a boy - “I meant to do that; it didn’t hurt a bit; nobody saw it anyway.”

I couldn’t believe I got that shot. I was taking pictures and he fell just as I was clicking! He definitely just went straight back to playing, and I knew I had to show that shot on the blog!

Silly kitty!
I think Katie like Alpaca more than mohair, but I don’t knit much with mohair.
Oh, and if you are bored, you could answer my friend’s question over here:

I really enjoy reading your blog. I had a baby that looked just like your General. I even had a baby once NAMED General. His sister’s name was Major. Need I even mention that we were military B.R.A.T.s? I’ve got three kitties but none of them seem much interested in my stash unless I’m actually knitting with it. (The whole intermittent movement thing.)
I like to see cats acting like cats.
Cheers!
