[...] So, I come out of retirement, right, to do this Knitting Olympics thing? Mainly because Katie wanted to. And we practice. And we train. She’s gotten good at sitting on my lap without sitting on the yarn, my project, or the directions. And its crunch time – other human/cat pairs have finished. Every second counts. And what does she do?
The General is usually well behaved when I knit. But he feels he must help with blocking. He is also wild, wild, wild about Alpaca. I'm finding it difficult to believe cat owners can spin Alpaca if their cat is in the room.

I may need to knit some Alpaca cat toys!

What a gorgeous kitty and so helpful!! My kitty, Lexi, is only jealous of my knitting. She will get annoyed and position herself by my chair and make sure she hooks her back paw on the strand coming from the skein to my needles and then TAKES OFF! She pulls the project out of my hands and when I jump up thinking she got caught accidentally and is scared, I find her sitting calmly in the hall, blinking like...ha...got your attention didn't I? lol

The General is just doing his job. Our "Miss Kitty" is convinced that any knitting must pass her frequent and judicious inspections, and she is a cat who takes her responsibilities very seriously. She just finished inspecting the sleeve I am setting into a sweater, and I am pleased to say it does meet with her approval. And yes Alpaca is a kitty~nip, so is Llama! I have a lot of fun trying to spin those fibers w/out a lot of help!

NOT toys?

Lucky for me The General is often good. But there are times when he just can no longer help himself and he goes wild.

I knit an alpaca swatch and discovered Alpaca is some sort of fiber - cat nip.
