I suspect a few of the cat loving knitters out remember the earlier photo of my mutilated multitalented cat, General Sterling Price. I wanted to show you that he is recovering from his tummy injury, and has decided to renew his efforts to help me knit.
He noticed I had purchased yet another ball of sock yarn.1 Here, he is testing the yarn for elasticity, a property he considers important in sock yarns. He pulled violently on some strands, noticed they sprang back, and now advises me that this sock yarn “will do.”
Meanwhile, I’ve been a bit swamped with things to do. That’s why I’m knitting socks, and focusing on Haiku!
I do want to chart up my Aran sweater, and I’ve gotten a few suggestions for cable charting software. (I need stuff that can be used on a Mac.) Some are nice, but are missing some key features– like being able to increase 5 stitches into 1, as required for Celtic Flourish. Does anyone have suggestions I can add to my list?
1. Steinback Wolle Aktiv Effekt 70% Wool 20% polymid. 100 grams/ 460 yds. Superwash. Recommended gauge 30 stitches/ 4 cm.

Thanks everyone for your good wishes. He’s been scampering around all day, so we think he’ll be fine!

I’m glad he is recovering (and he looks quite frisky there with the sock yarn) - what happened?!

We’re not sure what happened. Unfortunately, sometimes he decides to rile up Blackie and it’s possible Blackie bit him. Blackie is usually very peaceful, so we really don’t know.
We had renamed Blackie “Fangorious” (Fang for short) because he wasn’t neutered by his first owner, and so has a huge head and jaws like a Tom cat. Even when he closes his mouth, his canines stick out. So, you can imagine if Fang bit The General, it could be bad!
Still, we aren’t sure. The General escapes outside, and it could have been another animal.
Right now, The General is doing great. Strangely, Fangorius seems ill! I’m taking Fang to the vet tomorrow.
