Jim admired my machine knit earflap hat but suggested I knit a fair-isle hat. So, I decided to convert the pattern to hand knit, on circular and I’m going to knit him a fair-isle hat. It’s going to have the double hem, so it will be very, very warm.
I’ve knit my swatch out of Brown Sheep Sport weight wool (which I had in my stash). I’m going to cast on as soon as I click “post” on this blog.
Jim doesn’t read my blog, because he doesn’t knit and he sees everything in progress anyway.
The upside of the Jim’s not reading my blog is this: he won’t know the hat I’m knitting is for him! So, don’t tell him. (That means you, Mom.) Of course, he’ll certainly see what I’m knitting. He may even catch on it’s for him — but no telling anyway.
This will be a ‘carry around’ and ‘knit on the couch snuggled with Jim’ project. So, the calendar time for the project will be at least a week. I’ll post as I make the hat, showing the hung hem etc. At some point, I’ll reveal the address for the new generator for a hand knit hat.
