Black Friday is almost here. And you know what that means. I should already know what I want for Christmas. But, I don’t.
Every year, Jim asks me what I want. Every year, I don’t know. There are things I hanker for, but I never know if I really want them. So… I’m hoping readers can help me. I’m going to look at popular things on line and ask your opinion.
Does anyone know if these Roomba thingies are any good?
I mean…. if they work, that would leave more time for knitting.

I just wanted to drop by and thank you on my knees for your knitting calculators. I freely admit that I have severely retarded math skills and I was just about to have a stroke trying to figure out my increases evenly. (I even took a whole class on knitting math and I’m just unteachable.) I finally googled and came across your calculator and almost burst into tears I was so happy. Thank you thank you thank you. May the heavens rain down cashmere upon you!

Thanks! It’s fun to write these, and I hope they help people.
My theory is: It’s better for one person to figure out the math, and create a generator than for tons of people to sit there scratching their heads.
I’ll be writing more as I think of projects. Sometimes I write them based on specific requests. (Especially if that doesn’t involve having to actually knit an item. Otherwise, I have to want to knit it!)

Ooooh yes lucia! Oh yes, those roomba thingies are the best!Look no further indeed!
Here I am ; your typical lurker. Although I’m such an avid reader and I enjoy the blog so much, I’ve actually never commented on any knitting content before. Now is my time, I have to recommend you one of those!
I’ve had mine for about 2 months now, though I’d wanted one for more than 2 years (outrageously more expensive here in Europe). That means I’ve looked into it plenty. After comparing all there is out there I went ahead and bought the Roomba Sage plus the home base( the offer here was like that).
I truly can’t imagine being without it anymore: It is a time saver, it is fun, it is easy, more importantly it does the job….it is a robot: YOU have to have that.
Some people will say “Yeah but it doesn’t do this, it can’do that..” My answer to that is:”Oh yes it does, and it does it when i don’t want to do it”.
Anything else? I’ll be pleased to answer

Thanks for commenting!
I’m seriously thinking of this. It’s very, very tempting.
I figure it doesn’t have to be *perfect*, I just want to know if it actually saves me effort!

But it is *perfect*!
To paint a fairer picture: I have hardwood floors all over and carpet in the rooms. I have no kids or pets. I live in a flat so I have no stairs. It’s not easy to publicly admit I’m a bit too meticulous for my own good but in these 2 months I’ve used my vacuum cleaner only to clean my roomba. It will go under the bed every time, it will do the matress, it will even do on top of the cupboards…now go beat that!:-)hehe

hhhmmm.I have pets. And two floors. Maybe I need two roombas?
But, I think one on the main floor might help a lot. It would be nice to have something crawlign around regularly. I could always still push the vaccuum sometimes.

I just wanted to say Thank You! I found your “pick up and twist dropped stitches” through a Google search and used it to fix a mistake I made… you saved me from lots of tears! Thank you so much!

Great! I’m glad it helped. Believe it or not, I wrote that because I saw the “how to pick up stitches” as a search term in my referrer logs!
