The boyfriend sweater.
Knit this and he will dump you.
Can’t say I’d blame him.

My hubby has similar one (not made by me – bought in mall) and he likes it! Luckilly, we are not often together in public!

This type of style was very popular in the 80s, and it’s not even a bad example of the wild 80’s sweaters. In fact, I suspect every American male over 40 has a similar one in his closet. My father in law never throws anything out and he has TONS of these!
The fact is, styles change. If you knit this now I don’t think a young boyfriend is going to be thrilled. (Although, who knows? The style could return!)

Ah, so that’s what started the curse. I knew it had to be something like that.

Yes. Curses start for a reason!

The Timberwolves’ Kevin McHale often wears Cosby-ish sweaters like this. A few years back, I really wanted to make a What Was McHale Wearing website, but it was not very easy to get photos that would show the true horrof of these awful sweaters.

Too funny!
My mom’s friend is clearing out her basement, and I’m going to be receiving MORE magazines!!! Who knows, maybe I’ll find even wilder examples.
