Benefits of Blogging!

Free knitting books! I’m going to get free knitting books!

Yesterday, I opened an email from a representative of Sterling Publishing. He offered to send me free books! Not just free books, free knitting books!

Evidently, Sterling Publishing somehow identifies bloggers, sends them free books, and hopes we’ll use them and comment on their contents No obligation on their part; none on mine.

Naturally, I asked if I could share the books with people in my knit groups — many of whom also blog– and he said, sure. So, I’ll be bringing some to B&N soon!

Naturally, I had to click on the link to Sterling Publication’s current list of books on knitting. The titles looks good.

Sure they can send them. Sure, I’ll review! (I promise to tell readers when I am reviewing a freebie. That seems only fair.)

While I wait for the books, I’ll continue working the cuff on Jim’s sleeve. That’s probably wiser than trying to drive up my hit counts by posting controversial blogs.

In case you’re wondering, based on reviewing my Cpanel logs, the big hit generators this week are the articles on Kool Aid dyeing, yarn over short rows, and the pumpkin.

Who’d a thunk? :)

  1. Not fair, I want free stuff. :) Not that I get nearly as much traffic as you. Although, i’ve bumped up to over 200 hits a day for the last few weeks, and I can’t figure out why.

  2. Yeah… well, over at Marilyn’s comments, Joe said he wished he’d come up with the idea to blog about Marilyn’s post thus generating mega traffic to his site.

Unfortunately, my ploy doesn’t seem to have worked. :

  6. Or maybe the saw my picture, guessed my age and figured “There’s a woman who remembers the ’80s. Maybe even the 70s!”

    (Heck, I remember the ’60s.)
