Could you do me a favor? If you have a trackback capable blog, could you put a link to this page and drop me a trackback? I want to try something cool, groovy and new, and top super secret that will thrill knitters everywhere.

But to make it work, I need to be sure my trackbacks work. I know I can set trackbacks, but I’m not sure I can place them.

If PHP EXEC new plug in I installed today is working, you can trackback by inserting this:

http://www.thedietdiary.com/blog/lucia/433/trackback
into the “trackback” box on your blogging software template — that is, assuming you have such a box. I know it can be done with both Moveable Type and WordPress, but I don’t think you can do it with blogger! (Although, if it can be done, let me know! ). If you use a service that doesn’t support trackbacks, you can use Haloscan to leave and receive trackbacks. Give it a try!

I’m asking that you do put an actual link in the page rather than just placing the trackback link in the box. The reason for this is I’ve installed Track Back Validator, but edited two lines to automatically delete the stuff it considers spam but moderate everything else. The deleting part definitely works, but I never get trackbacks. (Hey, this is a knitting blog.)

Anyway, I’m worried I may be deleting everything! (I am, of course, simultaneously tracking back to my own immensely interesting article: Jim Needs to Pose.)

Anyway, if you are worried I’m just doing this for google rank, feel free to delete the link to my site immediately after tracking back.

Not that I’d mind if you leave the link in and pump up my google rank . . .
