I was watching the news and heard about perogi for sale on Ebay. Of course, I rushed to the computer to check it out; the current bid is $760!
This isn’t just any Piegrogi. The owner tells us:
On Palm sunday 2005 I was frying perogi’s when I turned this one over the face of the Lord was fried into it!
I googled and found one article at WBEN.
Evidently, the “perogi”, which they spell pierogi, has been stored in the freezer. The sale of a “Virgin Mary Cheese Sandwich” for $28,000 may be what inspired the pierogi’s owner to place auction her object.
Is the item legit? WBEN tell us there are those who doubt. Evidently, Ed Kutas, the proprieter of a Polish restaurant thinks the deity-face may have been sketched on the dumpling prior to cooking.
I have to admit, the dumpling reminds me of the “smiley face pancakes” Mrs. Willer taught us to make when we were kids. Maybe I should adapt the technique to other shapes?

And to think that my 12 balls of Dale of Norway Heilo plus a pattern only went for 30 bucks on eBay. Geez. I should have said that if you knit with it in a special way, the face of Jesus is revealed.

Come to think of it, isn’t this the perfect motif to knit using “illusion knitting”?
