I upgraded my blog software to WordPress 1.2 last night. It has wonderful new features– particularly the ability to block comment spam. (Which, hopefully, visitors don’t notice. But I notice every night when comments advertising “stuff” show up, and I delete them.)
Naturally, nothing is pain free. Notice the name of the blog changed? (Look up.). At least the blog is displaying. For a half hour, all the posts vanished entirely. I got the dreaded ” post_date_gmt ” missing Data Base error. Fortunately, this blogger mentioned the fix, which is to run /wp-admin/upgrade.php. It worked like a charm.
I’ll be fiddling a little tomorrow. I think I’m done! I had to change a few permissions, to make the templates writable. Now, everything is fine.
