Email Plug In
Posted on 08.03.05 by lucia @ 3:38 pm

In my constant quest to increase functionality of the blog, I installed Lester Chan’s wp Email.php plug in for WordPress. Visitors can now click a link to email an article’s email address to a friend.

It’s a nice plug in, but I made a few changes. The original file sent the full post; I changed the template tag to simply send the summary. I also corrected some spelling mistakes, but I’m pleased with the way it works.

If you want to try it, the link is at the bottom of each article. Give it a try!

Out of curiosity, do people think that bottom of the page is the correct spot for the link? I suspect sometimes people load a page to check it’s the correct one for their friend. They immediately recognize it is, but don’t want to read the whole thing again. Maybe if I put the link near the top, they’d remember?

Decisions, decisions.
