Knitting Fiend “Cute Cat” 2005: And the winner is. . .
Posted on 07.23.05 by lucia @ 9:44 am

Ten gorgeous cats placed their paw in the “Knitting Fiend Cute Cat Contest”; all had their ardent supporters. The votes are in, and have been counted.

Drumroll please!

Third Place

This adorable kitty had the “cute kitten” thing going on. His wide eyed “pick me up” look and perfect white bib won this member of the “orange kitty” society third place. Let’s give a big round of applause to
Baby Carrot

Baby Carrot

Baby Carrot was nominated by knitter, weaver, and cat afficianado, Karen B of “Karen’s Blog/Scenes from the Woodpile” on 7 5, 2005.

Second Place

This handsome cat used his mature sophistication to win votes. A gorgeous, talented and masculine, representing classic black and white cats, everywhere our runner up is
Jake

The Winner

He’s an exotic but cuddly Siamese. Classic and sleek. Striking an affectionate pose with his twin, our winner is:
Chinni!

The Prize

Our winner Chinni is entitled to all bragging rights associated with winning “The Knitting Fiend Cute Cat Contest, 2005″. Should the winner, or his human companion, fail in his duty of bragging sufficiently, the runner up shall be given permission to brag in their place.

Heck, the race was tight. Every cat entered was adorable and received at least 10 votes (which is 1/3 the number obtained by the winner.) They can all brag about how cute they are.

But we know cats don’t brag; that’s what humans are for! So, brag away, and let’s have another big round of applause for all entrants, their human companions and, of course, the winner,

Chinni!

  4. Congratulations to Chinni..

Jake took his loss in stride, but then at 17 you tend to take everything in stride. ;-)

And then, those of us who are owned by cats *already* know ours are the cutest.

  5. About the bribes… Can you believe no one offered any? Not even to win a valuable prize like “bragging rights?”

Maybe next year I need to find a sponsor like “9 Lives” or “Iams” who can donate a prize. Maybe that will result in bribes? Like all knitters, I could use a truck load of luxury yarn! Of course, the problem would be, I blog about everything I knit. People would begin to suspect. . .

All the cats entered are beautiful. I hope everyone’s cat lives as long as 17 year old Jake. I know I’d also like to hear Miss Pricilla’s tales of Las Vegas at 19 I bet she has good ones, especially since you have to admit, she’s still a looker!
