I knitted at a wedding. I have knitted at all of those places. I usually only do gauge swatches at home.

Lucia, I took your quiz. I think it’s cute, but flawed. I scored a 49%! Don’t you think that’s odd? Probably because I don’t get to travel much, have no local fellow knitters, and have a fairly rigid code of personal conduct regarding where and when I will knit. Also, I “knit” more than 1.42 but less than 5 hours per day. Great quiz anyway!

Yes, it’s probably flawed. But then, most quizzes are flawed!
I wrote it based on signs of addiction I found on a forum. They were pretty funny. There were women who really did claim to own 12 Rubber maid containers of yarn, and skip work to knit!
Still, I kept trying to edit to “rejigger” the scoring, but never came out with something that great. So, I decided: heck, it’s a blog!
Also, I think I need a “machine knitting” quiz that’s different from a hand knitting quiz. Addicted machine knitters are likely to score low on this. After all, you can’t take your machine to mass or shlep it on a vacation. The MK quiz would need “how many machines/ accessories do you own” type questions.
I think the real problem is I need something more complicated than just weighting each score and adding. After all, if you knit 10 hours a day, and skip work but don’t go to meetings, you are probably addicted even if you don’t own totes or zillions of needles!
Also, I think it’s possible that some people knit a lot, but aren’t, strictly speaking addicted. If you read some of the email lists, you’ll find some people really organize all vacations, events etc. around knitting. Although you knit a lot, I’m not sure you do that.
hey i got 72%, and i came damned close to knitting at MY wedding, lol. calmer (and male) heads prevailed, lol.

I got 52% and “you aren’t addicted”.
I am pretty sure that I AM addicted to knitting in that I *need* it to relax, I’m just not a hoarder. I buy, or spin, my yarn as needed so don’t have a huge stash. I am also very self controlled in that I force myself to do other needful things rather than knit ALL the time.
I scored 51%, despite the huge stash - I think it’s because the choices of times I can knit is fairly limited. I don’t knit at work. I’d love to, but it’s not possible. I think I would be addicted if I had the time, but if it’s knitting or sleeping, I need the sleep.
I have quite a nice stash going and despite the paltry 44% rating I got, I do consider myself addicted to knitting. I go into I must buy and touch yarn transes whenever I go into a yarn store and buy yarn that I don’t know what I’m going to do with. I guess I’m not much of a rabid knitter as it doens’t consume my whole life, but it is part of my life.

I scored an 84%. This qualifies me as ‘a knitting overachiever.’ I don’t honestly think that “family members may be a bit tired of being asked their opinion about stitch patterns.” Right guys? Guys? Hello…?

You scored 82%. Yes. You are addicted; you are a compulsive over knitter. Your stash and projects are the envy of many other knitters, but family members may be a bit tired of being asked their opinion about stitch patterns.
Lol!!! This is too funny!

Egads - 84% I’ve told my husband, “Be glad I collect yarn. I could collect jewelry!” So, he totally tolerates my addiction.
I have a big enough stash to start my own yarn shop - I seriously have at least 40 large plastic totes of yarn. I am 57 years old, so I’ve been at this for a long time. I think I was born with a crochet hook in my hand, and I learned to knit when I was 12.
Some of that yarn is from stores that no longer exist, from back in the days when all I could afford was clearance sale synthetics from Woolworth’s and Kresge’s (see - some of this stuff is older than you!) But that yarn wore like iron (and felt like it, too).
I stilll have an afghan I made to go off to college in 1968. The first pair of socks I ever made for my husband (in 1975 or 76), worsted weight fitted calf ski socks in Mexicali colorway Redheart, still lives, and all four of my kids have worn them, though mostly for Halloween or snow shoveling.

You scored 61%. You are a recreational knitter. Yes I can’t knit as much as I like but do knit everywhere. I knitted a whole row on a hat (over 100 sts) in the building sociaty wainig for my husband.
