The Knitting Fiend

I am announcing “The Knitting Fiend’s Cute Cat Contest, 2005″!

If you contribute to a knitting blog and you own a cat, you can enter between now and noon, July 17, 2005, Eastern Time. Visitors to my blog, “The Knitting Fiend”, will be asked to vote between July 18, 2005 and July 22, 2005 Eastern Time. The cat who recieves the largest number of votes will win the distinction of being called “Knitting Fiend’s Cute Cat, 2005″!

Entering is simple. Fill out the form below. When you click “submit” you will be sent to a page that lets you review and confirm your entry. If you have questions about the meaning of any item in the form, refer to the sample nomination announcement for my cat “Orange Puss”; since I count the ballots, he’s can’t run.

Once I recieve your entry, I will review. If the entry is complete, and conforms to the rules described here, I will accept it. If your cat’s nomination is accepted, an announcement containing the information you provide, will be created and posted on the “Cute Cat Ballot Blog”.

Entries will appear in “first accepted, first place order”; so enter early for best placement.

Entry Form
A blogger may nominate one cat. To nominate your cat in the “The Knitting Fiend Cutest Cat Competition” you must reside with the cat you nominate. you must maintain a knitting oriented blog that permits comments. your blog must have published at least 4 articles discussing knitting in the past 2 months. you provide all relevant items andinformation requested the form below. The form must be submitted electronically using the form I provide on this page. the links you publish may not point to a domain or blog containing nudity, and/or violent or sexually explicit content. you must realize this contest is just for fun, and is not guaranteed to go smoothly. you will not hold Lucia liable for anything that might go wrong with this contest! Lucia Liljegren will do her best to make this contest go smoothly and is a good experience for every cat and his or her human companion. Each entry will be evaluated by Lucia Liljegren and accepted or rejected at her sole discretion. (Lucia Liljegren may not enter any of her cats.) To enter, fill in the blank boxes in the entry form, then click on “enter my cat” at the bottom of the form. (You will be given an opportunity to review and then confirm your entry.
Enter your cute cat’s name. The name you enter to the right will replace “Orange Puss” in the sample contest entry.
Enter your name. The name you enter will appear on the contest entry page and replace “Lucia Liljegren” in the example above.
Enter your email address; if possible, provide the email adress you post at your blog. This address will not be published on the contest page. I will use it to communicate any news about your entry.
Enter the URL of a published blog page announcing your cat’s nomination. This link will replace the link to “http://www.thedietdiary.com/blog/orangepuss.html.” in the sample entry above. The blog article you enter to the right must include links to “The Knitting Fiend’s Cute Cat Contest, 2005″ Announcement Page and “The Knitting Fiend’s Cute Cat Contest, 2005″ Voting Ballot,; (that is, include links to both http://www.thedietdiary.com/blog/lucia/324 and http://www.thedietdiary.com/blog/lucia/325)! (I advise the article include photos of your cat and text to explain why he or she deserves to win “The Knitting Fiend’s Cute Cat Contest”)
Enter the URL to a jpg image of your cat. I will hotlink to this image. The image must be smaller than 7 Kbytes, but may be a different shape.) You must be the copyright owner of the image you submit; by entering you grant me, Lucia Liljegren permission to hotlink this image on the various pages and blogs associated with this contest.
Enter your blog’s name. The name you enter will appear where “The Knitting Fiend” appears in my sample contest entry.
Check a box. I agree to enter my cat and to abide by the terms of this competition. I understand Lucia is the sole arbiter of my entry’s qualification, this contest is just for fun, there is no guarantee this contest will go smoothly! I don’t agree. (Note, if you do not agree to enter your cat and abide by the terms, you will not qualify for the contest.)

[…] I’m watching a show about cats on A&E, and now I’m entering Murphy in the Knitting Fiend’s Cute Cat Contest ‘05. Murphy want’s you to vote for him! He’s threatening to electrocute himself if you don’t vote for him! Why does Murphy deserve to win? Because he’s really smart and funny. He acts like I don’t feed him and begs people for their food. He likes being chased. He has a stuffed zebra that he considers his girlfriend. He likes to fight his older buddy Fred for a spot in a window. He’s two years old and still my little baby. He makes “brrr” noises while he prances around. He’s a total mush when he’s sleepy. Vote here! btw, I don’t think anyone would get the title of my post…but if you think you do, take a guess. […]
