What’s been happening to my blog today? It keeps disappearing and reappearing; the non-blog side of the site is just fine. Weird.
Anyway, it’s working this second. We’ll see if this keeps up!
My theory is my hosting service was transferring files or backing up the data bases and something went wrong. But heck, who knows? I left a ticket at affordablehost.com, asking what was up. Maybe I’ll eventually learn. The timing was pretty inconvenient though, the site went down while I was making changes on the program to display referers to my site. Oh well.
Anyway, I decided to run a bunch of errands, sweep the porch, weed, have lunch with Jim and test out another lace stitch. This one is called “Stripe with Twisted Bars”. The photo shows the stitch from the right side, but the wrong side looks nice, so you could use this to make a scarf, dishcloth, shawl or stole.
* Cast on a multiple of 6 stitches plus 1 stitch. (Example 6 stitches * 4 + 1 = 25 stitches.)
* Row 1: (Right side) k1 * yo, k1, k3 tog, k1, yo, k1; repeat from *.
* Row 2: p1, * k5, p1; repeat from *.
* Repeat rows 1 & 2.
If you begin this working this stitch immediately after the cast on the lower edge will be beautiful scalloped. That would make a very pretty hem.
You can find descriptions of other stitch patterns at my knit stitch patterns page.
