I remembered that it was not difficult- my Mom had taught it to me as a child, but I just couldn't visualize it. from the iother instructions I've found. All the explanations I've encountered- till yours- just created more confusion. Your chart was perfect - I was able to see it in my minds eye and it finally made sense again. Thankyou for this. My seed stitches look exactly like they should. I am a beginner and I realised I just love doing this. I went and bought myself a Kit, which contains everything. I have 1 doubt though. One of the instructions says "work even in seed stitch". I wanted to know what this exactly means? It should not be 2 knits and 2 purls since that would be ribbing. I have not found an explanation for this anywhere and would be really glad if you could explain it to me. Waiting for your reply in anticipation! Thanksyou again. Neema Hi,

The pattern calls for one or the other. If you can give me the instructions on how to do these stitches I would appreciate it. If you have an odd number of stitches and start with k1, p1 then, for example you'll have k1, p1, k1. In this description for seed stitch it says to repeat row one. This would give the pattern Row 1: k1, p1, k1; Row 2: k1, p1, k1. In that case you would be purling all purls and knitting all knits when I thought that was the ribbing stitch. The chart for the ribbing stitch shows what is described in the seed stitch and vice versa. Am I misreading?? I have the same problem with it turning out like ribbing, and I'm about to rip and start over (for the third time). Also, assuming I master the seed stitch, this is a patterned blanket (teddy bears) and I will have a seed stitch border on each side -- How do I know whether to knit or purl when I get to the end of the teddy bear panel stitches?
