Brisbane Nannies knit
an African Elephant
with ivory tusks.
It’s been a while since I wrote a knitting haiku– but I was looking for “stuff” and found this adorable toy on Australian Ebay. Why fewer haikus? Designers got sick of novelty yarns and it’s getting more difficult to find hideous knit items! Still, there were some horrors in the magazines last month– I need to go find images and write a few more haikus.
Meanwhile… I’m knitting the collar on Jim’s sweater. I’m s_l_o_w lately. But the knitting is going well, and it makes watching football work out ok.

Nice knitting… the proportion of the elephant is perfect. Liked the blog. Good blogging.

Wow, that thing is pretty neat. I bet it was pretty tough to knit. Is it for sale in America? I dont know what austrailian cash translates to in us dollars.

I love this elephant! I would really love to try and make it for a friend. Any idea where I can get the pattern, or one similar?

That is quite the elephant, I don’t know how people think of such creative things to make but it always impresses me when they do

I just found your site while looking for information on short rows. Your calculator is the best invention since the wheel/sliced bread/pizza!!! Its great and I’ve marked it as a favorite since my math skills need work. Thanks so much.

Lucia, should we be worried about you? It’s so long since you didn’t say a word… I hope you are ok.

I have two golf sites, http://www.golfblogger.co.uk and http://www.golfbargains4u.co.uk and I am looking for feedback in relation to site lay-out, ease of navigation, content and suggestions for possible enhancement.
To all golfers/ sportspersons out there, I welcome any constructive feedback you may have, thanks.
best regards & kindest wishes

cool-this little guy reminds me of the towel elephants they leave in the rooms in fancy hotels and cruise ships. Or so I’ve been told–I’ve never personally stayed in a place where my towels were folded any way but over the towel rack.
