Yup, definitely. Most of the persons I know that knit are educated, college degree professionals. Pretty much the opposite of the stereotype most persons would expect.

Well, the funny thing (to knit bloggers) is that our niche was the one commonly single out as the "low tech, know nothing about blogging rules/ technology etc." platform when people would discuss blogging.

The reality is rather different. If you visit knitting blogs, you'll find the niche leans toward professional women!

LOL.. now that is funny that your post was from 2005! But there IS a lot of really good/valuable info out there that people miss! I'm glad people were able to benefit from your post - even if it was a year or two later! ;)

Thanks Michelle!
I find it amazing that Jason has raised many millions for his idea of a search engine. Human created lists of links can be the best kind-- they also take a lot of work and effort.

Seeing the a tech guy suddenly saying that's going to work would be like reading a knitter say she's going to put Hanes out of business by hand knitting underwear!

Oh you're just being modest- there is no strange reason why you are attracting traffic over at big bucks, it's really good content and it's funny. I watched Om Malik's show recently with the digg guy vs. Jason C. and all I kept thinking was about how funny it was you were ripping him to shreds on big bucks blog...
Speaking of threads, ohhhhhhhh what I wouldn't do to get a little tank like that one up there, it is so cute. But I am not a knitter... maybe I will run into something like it in the thrift stores or something. -Michelle

Ok, you sucked me in with that pattern. Good taste, it's nice. On the blogging theme, I don't even know what 'stumbles' are, but I've been tracking my blog traffic -- it is an interesting thing, and I have considered a blog post on tracking. Dunno, maybe that's not appropriate for a knitting blog?
BTW, I 'stumbled' on you through the ringsurf knitblog thing.
Thanks for the pattern link.
