The Fun Fur in France
is knit into fuzzy tops
and floppy berets.

I’ve often shown clothes knit out of novelty yarns — mostly unwearable. I’m not sure I’d wear this to and beret, but I have to admit, it’s more attractive than Annie Modesit’s fun fur halter top! (Do people in New Jersey wear the stuff Annie designs?)

The patterns for the top and beret are by Phildar. The pattern for the halter is from Knitty.)

  1. Hmmmm…

Hand her a club and she would make a beautiful cave-woman.

  3. The furry halter top is definitely not Annie’s best work, but most of her other designs are gorgeous. Sometimes designers go a little off the deep end trying to come up with things that are original and fun. I have to admit I did see a few strikingly similar things being worn by 20-somethings in Dallas during one summer when halters and handkerchief tops were extremely trendy.

  4. I really like this French fun fur design. I’m not
sure with my size I could get away with it, but heck why
not? I think the halter would be great fun at a party,
or now on Beale Street for the big New Years bash.
always love your site. take care love Pam

  5. If I had the body to pull off that halter top I’d wear it in a New York Minute. Not that I like the halter top, which I really don’t, I just want the BOD!

  7. One of the thing I love about fashion is that fact that thing can be so different. I love the design. who cares if it’s different most of the styles anyway are around a little while before anybody catches on.

  8. I an in the same boat as Logan. I’m from central jersey, and I don’t know a single person who would wear that halter top seriously.

  12. I’ve noticed you haven’t been posting much lately. Mostly the haikus which are funny and all, but I miss the other stuff too. I do hope you are just busy with work or are taking an extended vacation. I’ve seen so many great bloggers give up the ghost in the last few months. :O(

  13. If I’m in Paris, I’d definitely wear this fuzzy top. Instead of the beret, I’d wear it with a matching small, knit, fuzzy ponytail.

  14. I know fashions come back and cycle through, but isn’t that a tad old school.

  15. This is the first time I have ever heard one knitter put down another one. I’m not sure I like it,

  16. Wow, that model makes that look good…but it would look better on the floor. *wink* All joking aside, I bet the knitted one took quite a while to make.
