Jim and I stained our new picnic table.
He and his brothers bought the wood last week. Believe it or not, it was cedar normally used for decking. They decided to turn the wood into a 4′ x 4′ table. Jim decrees we need a second, larger one; he and I will be making a 6′ x 4′ table next weekend.
I’m seeing signs this project may end up being the “never ending furniture project”. Sign 1: Jim is looking at pictures of chairs in catalogs. Sign 2: He is discussing tools required to make said chairs. Sign 3: There is talk of matching side tables and plant stands.
Meanwhile, these beautiful Virginia blue bells are blooming in the deep shade on the north side of my houase. I bought these at the Morton Arboretum two years ago. They come up each spring, then die back leaving room for summer plants; you can see the hostas peaking up behind them.
Oh, I love spring and summer!

Beautiful mertensia! It’s hard for yarn addicts to argue with husband addictions… Maybe you are destined to enjoy lots of furniture.

Oh! I love the furniture. I should show a picture of the family room. Jim and his brothers get together and transform things. It’s great.
