Amazingly Ugly Lion Brand

A very big hole.
Was that put there by a moth?
No, by a knitter.

This specimen of handknit fuglyness appeared in a 2004 Lion Brand catalog and saved for posterity by Siege who said:

That sweater on the left is about the fugliest thing I’ve ever seen. Is it art? Is it a sweater? WTF is it exactly?

Evidently, these appeared at a student knitting exhibit. Yes. Too much studying can do strange things to young people’s minds.

  1. Oh geeze, I don’t know where to begin. I’ll start with the one on the right. Do you know a single woman anywhere in the world that wants to look like she has chest hair overflowing out of her top? The one on the left is what your clothes look like after you’ve been impaled. And it’s furry. Oh I can’t look anymore.

  6. I think the one on the left is called “What my cat thinks of my knitting”

  7. That is so stupid looking. Some mistakes are art, but…

  8. I’d wear the green one if I were still skinny :-p

The red/orange/multicolored one I think I’d have to pass. Even in my younger days of wearing just about anything freaky I could find.

  9. I think they are both great. I mean, I would wear them both, and I’m a guy!

I think they are pretty cute and I don’t see what the fuss is about?
