A hat or headband?
I am truly mystified.
There is no answer.
The pattern for this “edgy” hand knit item appeared in McCall’s Needlework and Crafts, Vol. III, 1952.
Did you think the concept of “edgy” knitting patterns was originated by Debbie Stoller? Wrong! The concept of indescribable hand knit items has existed for eons. In this case, we can’t call it a tam or beret. After all, tams and berets do not have big ventilating holes in the top. We can’t call it a head band because… well because!
Now, I’m not saying this is actually hideous, but it is odd.

Hi, Lucia! My knowledge about knitting is near to zero (tried to learn many years ago, but didn’t succeed), so I’m afraid I won’t be able to make any relevant comments. Sorry! But I’d like to thank you very much for visiting my blog and leaving a comment.
