Rough brown frizzy hair,
Deep deadly dark vacant eyes
Crochet mask of doom!
Designed by Nicki Hitz Edson who created a lot of masks in the 70s!
I figured as long as you all enjoyed the two hand knit masks, I’d look for more.
Unfortunately, “knit mask” didn’t show up any additional interesting things at Google. However, “crochet masks” sent me to a Tripod site showing N. Hedson’s designs. What a bonanza! This was evidently the first mask in a series of masks! (I’ll be showing more!

Am I the only one that thinks this looks like some kind of sadistic ritualistic cult mask? Eeeew! What kind of person envisions this stuff?

Hey. For some reason I can’t join the forum. It keeps popping up error: you did not type in the same letters as in the picture….which I did.
Any tips???

I should just delete the forum. There isn’t enough traffic. I took out the advise to ask technique questions there– just ask them here.

I really want to like these masks and admire the work that went into them, but they’re freaking me out. I’m gonna have to sleep with the lights on!
Hi, btw! Long time no visit blog!

Oh my God….I cannot wait to see what else you turn up. This is even more freaky than the previous ones

Oh, I love this mask! And there are other wonderful ones on her site, too. The knitted ones you’ve shown are funny, but I think these are really splendid. I’m not sure what for, but splendid nonetheless. Thanks for digging them up.

Well this one is very creative. Not as scary, but more “artistic”!

I think these are very cool, but a bit startling. This reminds me of when I stayed a night at the guest house of a couple who collected African masks. I had the weirdest dreams …
