I decided that if the wearer isn't old enough to hand wash or dry clean the garment by him/her self, it should be capable of going in the washer. I have argued with other knitters over this (as I buy a huge amount of discontinued Mission Falls or insist on superwash for a project) but I stand firm. I do use the delicate cycle and lingerie bags but thats as far as it goes. But then, look at all those weird hemlines in handknit patterns lately -- at least this has sleeves and pantlegs that end in the same places. (I did have to struggle to find that compliment.)
