Disney characters!
I thought they were copyrighted.
Maybe not in France?
I’m under the impression Disney rarely grants licenses for hand knitting patterns with Disney images. Heck, I thought they never did!
But here we see hand knit Mickey and Minnie; so presumably, Phildar negotiated a license.1 Intarsia lovers who speak French can watch on French ebay and snap these up. (I wonder if this publication was translated into English and sold in the US? )
From Phildar Mailles, “Decoration” 1991.
Notes:
1. By the way, I am assuming my posting the image falls under the “fair use” doctrine which permits copying in order to comment on something.

I think you’re mistaken about the licensing issue, or perhaps there’s been a policy change at Disney on this matter. Leisure Arts has a number of booklets with licensed Disney items to knit, including Pooh sweaters and pillows and Disney Princess outfits (with faux maribou fun-fur trim!!) for little girls.
