Backgammon is cool
but fancy boards are costly.
So you can knit one.
Oh, I bet you didn’t think I could do this: Make backgammon seem even remotely relevant to a knitting blog. Well, you are wrong! See?
I’ll admit, I would never have thought to knit a backgammon board. But it does have advantages: You can roll it up and take it on vacation. You can store it in your sock drawer at college. It’s a very handy.
The pattern? I found it at knitwhits.

No comments? How can that be? Do you suppose you have to use needles to make the sound of the dice? That’s one of the best parts of backgammon in my opinion.

Well… it was posted very recently. So, you got the first comment! Now, if I get comment on the previous “Buzz” article, I’ll be surprised.

Yes, dice knocking around in the cups and rolling is the best part! I wonder if the pattern has a felted cup to go with it?

There is nothing like a great haiku. LOL.

I saw that design on Knitty Gritty. Cool idea. I would never knit it.
And I totally agree that I would miss the sound of the dice in the cup!

I love the board! My sister is an avid knitter, so I learned how to knit some myself. I never could figure out how to do it as quickly as she did, so I kind of gave up. But that pattern may inspire me yet!
Thanks for the idea.

Oh that’s really cool! Backgammon to go! Cute design.

That design actually rocks. Not everyone is going to knit it. Not everyone wants one. But if you love backgammon, and need something to carry along, it would be really fun. (But do use a cup for the dice!)
