This eager young bride
couldn’t find the perfect dress;
so the groom killed her.
We see some weird photo shoots in knitting, but let’s face it, “American’s Top Model” and “The New York Times” beat knitting magazine fashion editors at this game! After all, as drugged out and emaciated as Rowan models can be, they are at least alive!
It’s my policy to avoid politics at my knitting blog. I will mention America’s Top Model’s decision to use images of apparently freshly murdered women “entertain” its audience has raised eyebrows at the feminist oriented blogs like Feministe, WIMN and Amptoons.
Let me remember, why is it I don’t watch America’s Top Model? I thought it was because the show is just flat out boring; I guess the show’s producers are trying to liven up the show make the show compete with murder mysteries.

Hi there! I just wanted to make sure you’re aware that your blog is in the queue for the Fiber Arts Bloggers ring, because you don’t have any code up. I just sent you the code again–please let me know if you don’t get it? I’d love to get you back in the ring.

As distasteful as it gets
Yet I’m entertained

I quite agree. Using pictures of murdered women is more
than distasteful. It’s beyond ethical standards of
any kind. I am completely distressed and disgusted.
I also found the model show quite boring and now this
disguesting thing. I will make note and write a letter of protest to everyone i can think of. thank-you for alterting
us to the disturbing use of women. by the way love your blog

So — was this thinly disguised as some sort of “challenge” to the wannabe models, to artfully pose themselves as crime victims? I never wanted to see that show, and now I REALLY never want to see that show.

Sick!!
You know, the Rowan models actually DO look like this, kinda, except for the blood…

Ah well, in the 90s they all looked like heroin junkies. More recently they just looked like trampy streetwalkers. At least they’re glamorous murder victims.
I’m being snide of course. To me this is just more lame and stupid fashion industry junk, but not too far off the mark from what you see in actual bridal magazines. I spent most of last year scrunching my nose at women rolling around on the floor in gowns I was supposed to be selecting for myself!? My favorite was the one sitting with her legs wide open to the camera and her dress hiked up. Yup that’s exactly the impression I wanted to put out there on my wedding day.
