What a chow hound!
His former slender figure
has spread to fatness.
Here’s an update on Cosmo who, as you may recall, picked out the colors for my entrelac scarf, and a bit of dieting news:
Cosmo is fat!
Six weeks ago when we adopted him, he was at his ideal weight. But, he’s been enjoying the “open bowl” policy in our house, and eating non-stop. Gaining a half a pound a week is not good for a human, and I can’t image what it does to a cat. (I wouldn’t have even thought it possible.)
I’m trying to get him to work out, but as you can see, he’s not interested. No more open bowl policy for him!

Awwww but he looks so comfortable.
I’m no help on the whole kitty weight loss thing. We always had toy poodles when I was a kid and none ever weighted more than 4 lbs. lol

My dog is lazy and has tendancy to be a bit chubbers. If I try to cut back on his food, he goes totally nuts. I recently switched to a fat-burning diet food and it seems to be working.

Some cats have a tendency to be greedy - seems to be more of a problem with neutered males, ’cause they’re not out chasing things. Ours gets spoilt when the neighbours feed him, but we feed him dried food, from a container with a line marked on it, and once it’s gone, it’s gone. He knows that now! In fact if he’s hungry at night we put him out - I don’t mind what he eats outside as long as it involves exercise! He gets a cute little “beer belly” when he’s overweight, it’s quite funny!
