but cashmere is much cheaper;
So is merino. . .
The muskox in the front is Maxine and evidently lives in the Alaska Zoo. I’m sure her undercoat makes the finest qiviut! So fine, I’d take out a loan to knit with it? Wouldn’t you? Of course you would. But to get a deal, you know you need to compare loans, right?
Well, frankly, if you need a loan to indulge yourself in $70 an ounce Qiviut yarn, I recommend you substitute the more affordable cashmere; if you can’t afford cashmere, use the merino. Heck, angora or mohair will do!
But, if you really, really can’t resist knitting yourself a sweater out of Qiviut, you’ll probably want to take out an personal loan which is at least likely to have a lower interest rate than your credit card. If you want to knit a full length coat, you may need to take out a secured loan (though, I assume no bank is going to give you a home equity loan to buy qiviut.)
