Whoops, I dropped a stitch.
It’s really not a mistake;
It’s brilliant design!
From “Simple Knits with a Twist Unique Projects for Creative Knitters” by Erika Knight
Conservative yarns back in style? You thought that meant designers would bring us well thought out classics that involve technical expertise? Dream on!
Let’s face it, all the truly classic designs are already published. If a sweater really was classic in 1920, it was still classic in 1940 … and 1960 and 1980 and 2000! A designer can only mildly tweak the same pattern so many times.
Bringing knitters something new requires some ‘creativity’. Dropped a few stitches? Never mind. It’s not a bug; it’s a feature. Wear that sweater proudly!

You know, it looks like a cat got a hold of that sweater…

It’s… interesting, isn’t it? I think I’m too old to appreciate it. (And never was young enough!)

Oh ew. Everyone would be stopping you on the street “Oh no, honey, you’ve got a run in your sweater!”

You know, I always rather thought that this looked like he got in a bar brawl. Add some fake blood and, “Viola!”

Maybe there’s a way to copy this without knitting.
Just visit your local second-hand store and then…
do your thing. NOT

The immaculately groomed soul patch along with the precise placement of the dropped stitches make this guy look waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to metro (as in metrosexual) for me. I think he was in a boy band back in the day.

It looks like this guy got too close to the tiger cage at the zoo.
