Dog Sweater

King of the Forest,
with his magnificent mane:
He’s gone to the dogs!

From Lion Brand

My younger sister once said she knows there must be a special place in hell for kids who dress up their dogs in doll clothes. And she knows there is a spot reserved for her. When she was little every Saturday she would bathe Pancho, our chihuahua, and dress him up.

Still, he seemed to love it, and he loved her. So, maybe the spot in hell will be cozy?

  1. Good grief. I wouldn’t do that to a rabid dog, let alone my “best friend.”

Glad you are back with your irreverent look at my favorite indoor sport-knitting.

  2. Today I saw a pug in a sweater–a turtleneck sweater pulled up over his little puggy ears–he looked just like a turtle:) I laughed–if he had been wearing this lion suit I would have fallen to the sidewalk choking with laughter. Just because they love us adn we love them, doesn’t mean we should dress them funny :)

  3. I love that! He’s so cute. Of course, I’m partial to lions, and maybe I’d only make my (best friend’s) dog wear this on Halloween, but honestly, that’s adorable.

OTOH, there are many terrifying outfits on pets nowadays.

  5. That’s hysterical! Do they have a tiger outfit for my cats?
