Jaunty bright tassels
Encircle womanly hips.
Always flattering.
From McCall’s Needlework and Crafts August 1991.
Thanks to the people who emailed to ask how I am. I’m fine! There was the whole holiday period, then I went out of town for a while, and I just fell out of the groove.
I’m also low on material.
Well, not really — but previously, I could flip open one of my magazines and easily find 3 really weird things. Now, I’ve haikued many of the oddest ones — so I need to flip through several before I find “inspiration”!
I may need to check ebay for more 70 to early 90s material. It’s hard to beat that time span for baggy drop shoulders sweaters with accents in “just the wrong spot.” We also see– as in here– “the let’s knit something fairly classic looking, that requires some technical proficiency and then “update” it by slapping a day camp craft decoration on it.” (Not that there is anything wrong with that. If you have slim hips. And you like to adorn them with camp decorations.)
What am I currently knitting? A garter stitch faroese shawl in thin yarn. It’s going slowly!

Day camp crafts! LOL! Glad to hear you’re fine, I noticed also that you had gone quiet, but was too busy with work, holidays, etc. myself to ping you.

I like the tassels on the arm. I KNOW they would be in the food before I sat down to eat!

ooh, I feel like I’ve found a treasure trove! I am going to really enjoy searching your blog for ideas. I have recently started machine knitting again after a long break and I remember now how much I love it!
Thanks
Marianne :^)
