Dear Designers A and B,
Thank you for your design submission. As you know, our customers have been requesting designs that flatter womanly curves. We think they will adore the back ending at the widest part of the butt and the cropped top highlighting the abdomen.
We will be thrilled to publish it in “Trendy Knitting Magazine!” Please include directions for bust sizes 35 1/2″ to 42″ with the final pattern!
Sincerely,
The Editors.
This pattern appeared in Fashion Knitting #47 (Vol. 9, Issue 2), March 1990.
Note: I have no idea how the number 47 on the front corresponds to the “Volume 9, Issue 2″; it a mystery of knitting.

Only a man could have designed that.

LOL! And if it was anything like a sweater pattern I looked at over the weekend, they’d show the model as she is but the pattern would only include sizes 40-47.

I still think people must have evolved since that picture was taken, heh.
