Grasshopper and Ant Sweater -- Intarsia

Lazy grasshopper
describes his philosophy;
the ant keeps working.

This child’s sweater appeared in the April 1988 issue of McCall’s Needlework and Craft. The issue included four intarsia sweaters based on Aesop’s fables; all designed by Nicky Epstein.

I’ve gotten some new visitors, so I may need to remind people: While I mostly post things that are flawed, I sometimes post things I consider to be cute. :)

If you think this is cute and are trying to find the magazine, look for a zebra sweater on the cover. I wrote a zebra sweater haiku in its honor!

  1. Being a “grasshoper” myself, I would never have the ant-like work ethic to knit this sweater which is really quite cute.

    LOL
