The Kaliaidescope jacket not only used 36 skeins-- it used 34 colors ways. Wanna bet you waste at least 1/4 of the yardage on each skein? You make 6 horizontal strips picking up stitches from the edge of one hexagon before making the next one. Afterwards, you join the strips by picking up a stitches and ultimately using a three-needle bind off. The knitter will have a lot of ends to tie in! Yes, they tell you how to assemble.
