Elegant black pearls
simple and understated:
unlike the sweater.
Once again, imagine the conversation between designers:
Designer A, “You know, I don’t care what anyone says, I like complicated sweaters!” Designer B,”You bet!”
A, “And you know, I just love to combine loads of expensive yarns!” B, “Absolutely!”
A, “But you know, the hip bobbles in our last design didn’t go over very well.” B, “No. . . But we need to do something to make this sweater stand out in the crowd.”
A, “I know! Let’s use fun fur!” B, “Brilliant!”
The pattern is from Gedifra. I priced the yarn; if I calculated correctly, the materials to knit this cost $222. This does not include the cost of the pattern, needles or other reusable items.

The purple bits peeking out from the furry pink make it look like a Muppet with a serious shedding problem, don’t you think?

And what is the price of looking like a flipping idiot? That sweater is ludicrous, but I actually know a few paople who would wear it and feel stylish. (these are not friends or blood kin, mind you.)

i love it, a shedding muppet … I might wear it, if it didn’t have the splotchy muppet mange going on, and were maybe about $30. in yarn. And it were in colors that I might wear, unlike pink and necrotizing purple, but after all that it wouldn’t really be the same pattern, and I’m an artist and supposed to look funny anyway … maybe hallowe’en is making it look more normal.
