Now, honestly, if you didn't read ahead, and made the mistake of starting this thing, wouldn't you break down <em>crochet</em> the black "filler" bits? I mean... would you seriously even try to make garter stitch "filler bits" to sew to the hexagons?! Absolutely priceless!
