I've tried knitting top down, but my increases look so horrible that I want to knit bottom up! But I can't find a pattern to help me with the short rows so my daughter"s neckline will be lower in the front! I can't wear my glasses for long periods because I get headaches and seizures so circular knitting is all I can do. Even when I could wear my glasses I couldn't get my seams to look good. I just want to knit her a long slim pullover with a neckline that's a lower in the front than the back - maybe 2 inches - total neck circ 17 inches. Any ideas? I don't know how to do short rows, and because of the damage, my memeory is spotty, so I need to follow a pattern, I can't figure things out anymore or learn them on my own. Knitting keeps me sane and my hands busy. Thanks!

Thank you very much Lucia. I am looking forward to receiving your information.

Do you know where I can get the pattern for a simple crocheted top down yoke sweater/cardigan/cape please?

I would like to make capes for people in nursing homes but need a very simple crochet pattern.

Thank you.

Yeh!! I love knitting top down sweaters. I'm trying to convert all the various style sweaters that are normally done from the bottom up to top down and try keeping the number of seams to a minimum. So this is going to be a great education. Thanks!

Can't wait to see that! I used to knit yoked sweaters from the bottom up, where you join the sleeves to the body and then knit the pattern -- could never figure out how to work the decreases into the patterning, though. Those were long-ago projects -- but I hadn't heard of the boyfriend sweater curse, and dodged it!

Cool! I'm really looking forward to reading the whole series. I've seen EZ's method, but it'll be fun to follow along with you.
